Based in the Bay Area, Brady holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s in Nonprofit Management from Cal State Fresno. In her twenties she began forming her lifelong passion for financial wellness education while teaching after-school programs for children. Subsequently, she earned credentials and gained experience as an NFCC-Certified Consumer Credit Counselor, a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor, and a loan underwriter.
In her early career, Sarah reached thousands of families and individuals across the Bay Area with personal finance workshops and served as a contracted financial educator for the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing, the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, and the San Francisco LGBT Center. Through her educational and experiential background, she gained fluency in all personal finance and some business finance topics; and has written about consumer credit, mortgages, insurance, car-buying, cybersecurity, and cryptocurrency, among many other related areas.
Brady launched her freelance writing platform, SarahCBrady.com, in 2017; since then her work has been featured in more than 30 high-profile financial publications and outlets including Yahoo! Finance, Forbes Advisory, Kiplinger, Experian, Investopedia, and Time. She also has appeared as an expert guest on PBS NewsHour and conducts financial wellness webinars.
Sarah Brady’s stated goal for joining the CFEC Advisory Board is to reach a broader audience of California individuals, families, and organizations with much-needed financial wellness education.
